NoAdware Review

The nice thing about adware nowadays is that many companies have come up with products to eliminate the threat that they pose. So even if adware makers keep coming up with new versions, it is great that anti-adware companies are keeping up with the trend. One such anti-adware product is the NoAdware 4.0 product from the No Adware company.

No Adware seems to have come up with a very good product for the price of US$29.95 because one editor says it can provide more-than-average protection for your PC operating system against threatening spyware. Adware can double as spyware many times so you can try it out and see for yourself whether it suits your needs.

For one thing, it has a pretty smooth installation system that, when completed, permits the user to get the most up-to-date spyware definition files. It offers a user interface that is quite simple to rely on and navigate with - to the point that even people who are not so familiar with computers can find it user-friendly. The problem with the graphics that used to crop up before in earlier iterations apparently has been resolved in this version.

However, the user interface seems to be a tad slow so the manufacturer No Adware may need to work on that problem. Another glitch that has to be fixed is the product's inability to recover much disk space which can be a problem if you need all the disk space you can recover.

In one experiment, the editors found that the NoAdware 4.0 product had the ability to find a maximum of 54% and disable up to 54% as well of the spyware threats in the infected PCs. No false positives showed up either. Scanning also revealed a much better signature database for this version compared to other versions that came out from No Adware. But unfortunately, the NoAdware 4.0 did manage to render the Internet Explorer of the PC being experimented upon disabled after a scan and reboot was conducted. The editors further found that a toolbar had been crippled though still partially installed due to the NoAdware 4.0.

One positive aspect of the product is that a backup can be created so that every removed file and registry entry can be stored. There are also some additional features that may come in handy like ActiveX shields and scan scheduling (though the editors said that such features are considered basic in this type of anti-adware product.) There is also the memory-resident spyware shield so that spyware trying to sneak in and be installed without you knowing it can be detected.

Though the NoAdware 4.0 is definitely not as great as McAfee and other similarly-powerful anti-adware and anti-spyware programs, for the price you pay it is a good deal anyway. It can help you guard against the most common adware doubling as spyware programs at a relatively above-average rate, which makes it a good choice compared to others in the same category.
