The disadvantage comes when the Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE makers seem to assume that its users are very skilled already in computers so people who are not tech-savvy may find certain functions in the Ad-Aware SE product to be difficult to use. One key feature that seems to be missing is the capacity of the Ad-Aware SE program to conduct scans when the owner of the PC is doing something else � something that all anti-spyware programs ought to have.

You also have to wait until your PC is finished with the scanning process before you can start to use it. You have to initiate a manual scan first or permit auto-start as you boot up. An editor says that Ad-Aware SE is rather costly compared to other products with similar features and that do almost the same things.

If you want a product that is made by a company which helped pioneer the anti-spyware revolution, then you can get the Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE. It offers a relatively decent level of anti-spyware protection for the price that you pay. But to fully contain the threat of spyware, you may have to buy an additional product as well so that your Windows operating system is fully protected from insidious spyware.
